Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Three Works by William Dobell was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in May 2009. The price achieved of AUD 7,200.00 (€ 4,074.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Dobell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Opera House, Sydney Harbour in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 816,000.00 (€ 487,948.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Australian Three Works von William Dobell wurde im Mai 2009 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 7.200,00 (€ 4.074,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Dobell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Opera House, Sydney Harbour im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 816.000,00 (€ 487.948,98).
