Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Dublin Horse Show by William Conor was sold in the Irish Art, including Property from the Collection of Sir MichaelSmurfit auction at Sothebys in London in September 2020. The price achieved of GBP 94,500.00 (€ 104,201.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Conor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Dublin Horse Show, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 192,000.00 (€ 282,540.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Dublin Horse Show von William Conor wurde im September 2020 in der Auktion Irish Art, including Property from the Collection of Sir MichaelSmurfit bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 94.500,00 (€ 104.201,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Conor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Dublin Horse Show beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 192.000,00 (€ 282.540,99) versteigert wurde.
