Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Christies in London held the auction The Irish Sale, which included the work The Half Door by William Conor. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,745.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Conor achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dublin Horse Show in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 192,000.00 (€ 282,540.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Irish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Half Door von William Conor zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.745,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Conor erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Dublin Horse Show im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 192.000,00 (€ 282.540,99).
