A top price for William Clerihew - as previously expected
In December 2010 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work A sketchbook of forty-five drawings and watercolours from the artist's tour in 1851 of India, Turkey, Egypt, Syria, Beirut, Israel, Cyprus and Greece by William Clerihew. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,479.99) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A sketchbook of forty-five drawings and watercolours from the artist's tour in 1851 of India, Turkey, Egypt, Syria, Beirut, Israel, Cyprus and Greece is the most expensive artwork by William Clerihew that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage

Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.479,99) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00.
