Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Clerihew could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours and Oriental auction, the work Rushman ud-Dowlah Mosque in which Nadir Shah sat during the massacre changed hands for GBP 180.00 (€ 261.26) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Clerihew achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A sketchbook of forty-five drawings and watercolours from the artist's tour in 1851 of India, Turkey, Egypt, Syria, Beirut, Israel, Cyprus and Greece in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,479.99).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A sketchbook of forty-five drawings and watercolours from the artist's tour in 1851 of India, Turkey, Egypt, Syria, Beirut, Israel, Cyprus and Greece im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.479,99).
