Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Jazz. Pasadena: Twelvetree Press, 1987. by William Claxton was sold in the Photobooks auction at Christies in London in May 2009. The price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 714.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Claxton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Steve McQueen in his Jaguar XK55, Hollywood in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,239.24).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 714,99) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Claxton erzielen.
