In May this year a collector was able to acquire the work Chet Baker and Teddy Charles, Pasadena by William Claxton for USD 765.00 (€ 718.04). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Photographs | Bonhams Skinner at Bonhams and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Claxton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Steve McQueen in his Jaguar XK55, Hollywood in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,239.24).
