This artwork by William H. Bradley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2005. In the British and Continental Watercolours and Oriental auction, the work Summer days, haymakers on the watermeadows by a river sold for GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,915.91) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by William H. Bradley; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Haymakers beside the river sold at auction in March 2001 with the realized price of GBP 1,527.50 (€ 2,464.77).
