Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours including Original, which included the work San Giorgio Maggiore from the Dogana, Venice by William Alister Macdonald. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 700.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 717.00 (€ 1,083.54). Admittedly, works by William Alister Macdonald have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Views of the Island of Tahiti in April 2005 with an auction result of GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,104.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours including Original durch, in der auch die Arbeit San Giorgio Maggiore from the Dogana, Venice von William Alister Macdonald zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 700,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 717,00 (€ 1.083,54) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Alister Macdonald auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Views of the Island of Tahiti im April 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.800,00 (€ 7.104,70).
