Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Alister Macdonald could be acquired at Christies in London in October 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours auction, the work A quantity of unframed drawings of European landscapes including views of Portugal, Italy, Spain and France (one illustrated) changed hands for GBP 480.00 (€ 717.16) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 600.00. Admittedly, works by William Alister Macdonald have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Views of the Island of Tahiti in April 2005 with an auction result of GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,104.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Alister Macdonald konnte im Oktober 2006 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours wechselte die Arbeit A quantity of unframed drawings of European landscapes including views of Portugal, Italy, Spain and France (one illustrated) für GBP 480,00 (€ 717,16) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 600,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Alister Macdonald auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Views of the Island of Tahiti im April 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.800,00 (€ 7.104,70).
