Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Temptation by William Acheff was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,187.50 (€ 2,701.27). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Acheff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Taos and Beyond in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 94,553.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Temptation von William Acheff im August 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.187,50 (€ 2.701,27) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Acheff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Taos and Beyond im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 94.553,71).
