Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Jewel of the Southwest by William Acheff was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 17,640.00 (€ 15,021.72). Admittedly, works by William Acheff have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Taos and Beyond in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 94,553.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Jewel of the Southwest von William Acheff im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 17.640,00 (€ 15.021,72) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Acheff auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Taos and Beyond im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 94.553,71).
