Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2003 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART, which included the work A panoramic dune landscape with a sportsman in the foreground by Willem Vester. It changed hands for a price of EUR 5,975.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willem Vester - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Heemstede bij Haarlem: peasants at the outskirts of a village in the dunes, which sold at auction in April 2005 for EUR 16,800.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2003 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit A panoramic dune landscape with a sportsman in the foreground von Willem Vester zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 5.975,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Willem Vester mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Heemstede bij Haarlem: peasants at the outskirts of a village in the dunes beobachtet, die im April 2005 für EUR 16.800,00 versteigert wurde.
