Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings Sale, which included the work Figures Before The Gate Of A Country House by Willem Schellinks. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,960.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Schellinks achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Winter Landscape With The Tiber And The Ponte Molle, Rome in January 2009 with an auction result of USD 266,500.00 (€ 208,138.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures Before The Gate Of A Country House von Willem Schellinks zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.960,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Schellinks erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Winter Landscape With The Tiber And The Ponte Molle, Rome im Januar 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 266.500,00 (€ 208.138,08).
