Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 52,151.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willem Schellinks - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Winter Landscape With The Tiber And The Ponte Molle, Rome, which sold at auction in January 2009 for USD 266,500.00 (€ 208,138.08).

Die Arbeit A Winter Landscape With Travellers And Figures Gathering Logs On A Frozen River Near A Village von Willem Schellinks kam im Juli 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 52.151,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden.
