In the Old Master and 19th Century Drawings auction, the work A view of the Piazza del Duomo, Messina, with the Fountain of Orion, the Cathedral to the right sold for USD 33,600.00 (€ 25,749.10) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Willem Schellinks have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Winter Landscape With The Tiber And The Ponte Molle, Rome in January 2009 with an auction result of USD 266,500.00 (€ 208,138.08).
