In April 2007 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Horses And Donkeys On The Beach by Willem Carel Nakken. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 7,800.00 56% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willem Carel Nakken - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Late summer: loading the hay-cart, which sold at auction in April 2005 for EUR 20,400.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 56 % übertroffen
Im April 2007 führte Sothebys in Amsterdam die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Horses And Donkeys On The Beach von Willem Carel Nakken zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 7.800,00 und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Willem Carel Nakken mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Late summer: loading the hay-cart beobachtet, die im April 2005 für EUR 20.400,00 versteigert wurde.
