Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Horse In A Stable by Willem Carel Nakken was auctioned at Sothebys in Amsterdam in September 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,875.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Carel Nakken achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Late summer: loading the hay-cart in April 2005 with an auction result of EUR 20,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Horse In A Stable von Willem Carel Nakken im September 2007 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.875,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Carel Nakken erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Late summer: loading the hay-cart im April 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 20.400,00.
