Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Flower Still Life With Chrysanthemums by Willem Elisa Roelofs was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,600.00 – 1,800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 840.00. Admittedly, works by Willem Elisa Roelofs have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A summer bouquet in June 2002 with an auction result of EUR 5,377.50.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Flower Still Life With Chrysanthemums von Willem Elisa Roelofs im Juni 2006 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.600,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 840,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem Elisa Roelofs auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A summer bouquet im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 5.377,50.
