The work De arenleester: a girl in a cornfield by Willem Elisa Roelofs was sold in the PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2001. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 1,400.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 1,527.50. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willem Elisa Roelofs - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A summer bouquet, which sold at auction in June 2002 for EUR 5,377.50.

Die Arbeit De arenleester: a girl in a cornfield von Willem Elisa Roelofs wurde im September 2001 in der Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 1.400,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 1.527,50 einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Willem Elisa Roelofs mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A summer bouquet beobachtet, die im Juni 2002 für EUR 5.377,50 versteigert wurde.
