It achieved a price of EUR 4,375.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46 %. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Bastiaan Tholen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Billiards Player in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 287,500.00 (€ 315,655.88).

Die Arbeit Giethoorn von Willem Bastiaan Tholen wurde im Juni 2012 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 4.375,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46 %. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Bastiaan Tholen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Billiards Player im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 287.500,00 (€ 315.655,88).
