Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2012 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now, incl. Topographical Observations, which included the work A dune landscape by Willem Bastiaan Tholen. The price achieved of EUR 1,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Bastiaan Tholen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Billiards Player in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 287,500.00 (€ 315,655.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2012 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Nineteen to Now, incl. Topographical Observations durch, in der auch die Arbeit A dune landscape von Willem Bastiaan Tholen zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.250,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Bastiaan Tholen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Billiards Player im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 287.500,00 (€ 315.655,88).
