Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Will Cotton could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Joy, Love and Peace: The Peter B. Lewis Collection auction, the work Two Girls changed hands for USD 1,188.00 (€ 1,106.04) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Will Cotton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Taffy Forest in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 272,500.00 (€ 211,963.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Will Cotton konnte im März 2015 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Joy, Love and Peace: The Peter B. Lewis Collection wechselte die Arbeit Two Girls für USD 1.188,00 (€ 1.106,04) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Will Cotton erzielen.
