Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Deep Water Horizon I/Ii by Will Benedict for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,388.02). This price was achieved in the auction First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Will Benedict - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Municipal Waste, which sold at auction in September 2018 for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,377.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Deep Water Horizon I/Ii von Will Benedict für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.388,02) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Will Benedict mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Municipal Waste beobachtet, die im September 2018 für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.377,73) versteigert wurde.
