Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Discoveries, which included the work The Buffet by Will Benedict. The price achieved of GBP 1,260.00 (€ 1,482.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Will Benedict - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Municipal Waste, which sold at auction in September 2018 for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,377.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Discoveries durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Buffet von Will Benedict zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.260,00 (€ 1.482,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Will Benedict mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Municipal Waste beobachtet, die im September 2018 für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.377,73) versteigert wurde.
