This artwork by Wilfredo Lam achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March last year. In the Latin American Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 214,200.00 (€ 193,094.74) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wilfredo Lam achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Omi Obini in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 9,603,800.00 (€ 8,551,153.06).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Wilfredo Lam erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Latin American Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 214.200,00 (€ 193.094,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wilfredo Lam erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Omi Obini im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.603.800,00 (€ 8.551.153,06).
