Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Werner Bischof achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in November 2010. In the PHOTOGRAPHS auction, the work Courtyard of the Meiji Temple, Tokyo sold for GBP 5,750.00 (€ 6,871.24) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,200.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Werner Bischof; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot White Paper-Roll, Negative Et White Paper-Roll, Positive , 1938 sold at auction in November 2015 with the realized price of EUR 8,750.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Werner Bischof erzielte im November 2010 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion PHOTOGRAPHS wurde die Arbeit Courtyard of the Meiji Temple, Tokyo für GBP 5.750,00 (€ 6.871,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.200,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Werner Bischof; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit White Paper-Roll, Negative Et White Paper-Roll, Positive , 1938 im November 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 8.750,00.
