Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Prints, which included the work Prospects of London before and after the Great Fire by Wenceslaus Hollar. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 28,374.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wenceslaus Hollar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Old St. Paul'S Cathedral, London, Seen From The East, which sold at auction in July 2010 for GBP 75,650.00 (€ 90,960.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Prospects of London before and after the Great Fire von Wenceslaus Hollar zur Versteigerung kam.
