This artwork by Wenceslaus Hollar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2021. In the Old Master Prints auction, the work Head of a Cat (Small Size) (P. 2108) sold for GBP 2,772.00 (€ 3,306.41) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wenceslaus Hollar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Old St. Paul'S Cathedral, London, Seen From The East in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 75,650.00 (€ 90,960.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wenceslaus Hollar erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Prints wurde die Arbeit Head of a Cat (Small Size) (P. 2108) für GBP 2.772,00 (€ 3.306,41) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wenceslaus Hollar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Old St. Paul'S Cathedral, London, Seen From The East im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 75.650,00 (€ 90.960,60).
