Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2014 Christies in London held the auction Robert Kime, David Bedale, Piers von Westenholz and Christopher Gibbs - The English Home, which included the work London Views (Pennington 907-910) by Wenceslaus Hollar. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,187.50 (€ 1,445.46) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wenceslaus Hollar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Old St. Paul'S Cathedral, London, Seen From The East in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 75,650.00 (€ 90,960.60).
