The work Return after Drinks in Xinan by Wen Jia was worth HKD 680,000.00 (€ 70,837.92) to a buyer in May 2012. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wen Jia achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Thatched Cottage In The Southern Village (Nancun Caotang Tu), After Wang Meng in March 2012 with an auction result of USD 5,122,500.00 (€ 3,841,682.92).

Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 100.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wen Jia erzielen.
