Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Landscape by Wen Jia. The price achieved of USD 47,500.00 (€ 40,209.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wen Jia achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Thatched Cottage In The Southern Village (Nancun Caotang Tu), After Wang Meng in March 2012 with an auction result of USD 5,122,500.00 (€ 3,841,682.92).
