Auction result well in line with expectations
The work At the Circus, 1943 by Weegee was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2005. The price achieved of USD 4,560.00 (€ 3,529.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Weegee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Weegee Portfolio in October 2019 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 56,028.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit At the Circus, 1943 von Weegee kam im April 2005 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.560,00 (€ 3.529,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Weegee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Weegee Portfolio im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 56.028,69).
