Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work Sunrise, Bay Of Fundy by Warren W. Sheppard. Here, the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 16,250.00 (€ 10,281.56). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Warren W. Sheppard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The naval engagement between the C.S.S. Merrimac and the U.S.S. Monitor at Hampton Road, which sold at auction in February 2006 for USD 48,000.00 (€ 40,251.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sunrise, Bay Of Fundy von Warren W. Sheppard zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 16.250,00 (€ 10.281,56) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Warren W. Sheppard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The naval engagement between the C.S.S. Merrimac and the U.S.S. Monitor at Hampton Road beobachtet, die im Februar 2006 für USD 48.000,00 (€ 40.251,57) versteigert wurde.
