Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Appointment Of A Marquis by Wang Yun was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 23,750.00 (€ 19,277.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Yun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Figure Landscape in April 2013 with an auction result of HKD 2,185,000.00 (€ 213,887.07).

Die Arbeit Appointment Of A Marquis von Wang Yun wurde im März 2018 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 19.277,60) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Yun erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Figure Landscape im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.185.000,00 (€ 213.887,07).
