This artwork by Wang Yuanqi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Landscape After Huang Gongwang sold for USD 675,000.00 (€ 547,889.61) - well above the upper estimate of USD 260,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wang Yuanqi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape Inspired by Huang Gongwang in November 2017 with an auction result of HKD 48,475,000.00 (€ 5,219,068.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Yuanqi erzielte im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Landscape After Huang Gongwang für USD 675.000,00 (€ 547.889,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 260.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Yuanqi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape Inspired by Huang Gongwang im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 48.475.000,00 (€ 5.219.068,33).
