Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Resting in the Wind by Wang Xijing was sold in the Chinese Paintings Online: Modern Masters auction at Christies in New York in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,044.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Xijing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Yu Youren in April this year with an auction result of HKD 180,000.00 (€ 183,815.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Resting in the Wind von Wang Xijing wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Chinese Paintings Online: Modern Masters bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.044,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Xijing erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of Yu Youren im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 180.000,00 (€ 183.815,22).
