Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Female Musicians, 1989 by Wang Xijing was auctioned at Bonhams in Sydney in September this year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 1,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 3,200.00 (€ 3,023.43). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Xijing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Yu Youren in April this year with an auction result of HKD 180,000.00 (€ 183,815.22).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Female Musicians, 1989 von Wang Xijing im September diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Sydney versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 1.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 3.200,00 (€ 3.023,43) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Xijing erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of Yu Youren im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 180.000,00 (€ 183.815,22).
