Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Seven-Character Couplet in Running Script by Wang Wenzhi for HKD 45,000.00 (€ 5,342.47). This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Wenzhi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy After Masters in April this year with an auction result of HKD 516,000.00 (€ 526,936.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Seven-Character Couplet in Running Script von Wang Wenzhi für HKD 45.000,00 (€ 5.342,47) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Wenzhi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy After Masters im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 516.000,00 (€ 526.936,96).
