A top price for Wang Wenzhi
This artwork by Wang Wenzhi achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in April this year. In the Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy After Masters sold for HKD 516,000.00 (€ 526,936.96) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 220,000.00. This high result makes Calligraphy After Masters the most expensive artwork by Wang Wenzhi that we have observed at auctions so far.
