Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy In Xingshu by Wang Wenzhi was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. The price achieved of HKD 106,250.00 (€ 12,144.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Wenzhi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy After Masters in April this year with an auction result of HKD 516,000.00 (€ 526,936.96).
