Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Qualified (Triptych) by Wang Jinsong was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 100,000.00 – 200,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 68,750.00 (€ 8,114.96). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Jinsong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Modern People (8 Panels) in October 2010 with an auction result of HKD 3,860,000.00 (€ 358,384.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Qualified (Triptych) von Wang Jinsong im April 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 68.750,00 (€ 8.114,96) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Jinsong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Modern People (8 Panels) im Oktober 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.860.000,00 (€ 358.384,91).
