A top price for Wang Jian
This artwork by Wang Jian achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2015. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Landscape After Old Masters sold for USD 1,450,000.00 (€ 1,349,967.41) - well above the upper estimate of USD 700,000.00. This high result makes Landscape After Old Masters the most expensive artwork by Wang Jian that we have observed at auctions so far.
