Inscribed at the end of the scroll by the artist, and signed: Wang Guxiang Luzhi fu
Two seals of the artist: Gu Xiang, Lu Zhi
Dated first month, xinchou year of the Jiajing era (1541)
Three collectors' seals, including two of Wu Rongguang (1773-1842), and one of Yong Xing (1752-1823)
Colophons at the end of the scroll by each of:
Gu Yunlong (16th century), signed, with one sela, and dated dingwei year (1547);

The work Thousand Character Essay In Running Script Calligraphy by Wang Guxiang was sold in the FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2005. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 156,000.00 (€ 16,245.53), 30% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Wang Guxiang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flowers and Birds in May 2006 with an auction result of HKD 1,440,000.00 (€ 144,639.60).

Die Arbeit Thousand Character Essay In Running Script Calligraphy von Wang Guxiang wurde im Mai 2005 in der Auktion FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 156.000,00 (€ 16.245,53) und damit 30% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Guxiang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Flowers and Birds im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.440.000,00 (€ 144.639,60).
