In November 2007 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Calligraphy in Seal Script by Wang Guxiang. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 60,000.00 (€ 5,245.10), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Guxiang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers and Birds in May 2006 with an auction result of HKD 1,440,000.00 (€ 144,639.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im November 2007 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy in Seal Script von Wang Guxiang zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 60.000,00 (€ 5.245,10) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Guxiang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flowers and Birds im Mai 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.440.000,00 (€ 144.639,60).
