Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Waltércio Caldas could be acquired at Phillips in New York in May 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction, the work Wood Wind changed hands for USD 37,500.00 (€ 33,635.30) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Waltércio Caldas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Azul de Superfície, which sold at auction in November 2012 for USD 98,500.00 (€ 75,710.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Waltércio Caldas konnte im Mai 2019 bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session wechselte die Arbeit Wood Wind für USD 37.500,00 (€ 33.635,30) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Waltércio Caldas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Azul de Superfície beobachtet, die im November 2012 für USD 98.500,00 (€ 75.710,99) versteigert wurde.
