Auction result well in line with expectations
The work To Water by Walter Ufer was sold in the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in December 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 206,500.00 (€ 148,358.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Walter Ufer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Gateway in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,497,000.00 (€ 962,082.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit To Water von Walter Ufer wurde im Dezember 2008 in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 206.500,00 (€ 148.358,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter Ufer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Gateway im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.497.000,00 (€ 962.082,26).
