It achieved a price of USD 201,975.00 (€ 195,655.33), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Admittedly, works by Walter Ufer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Gateway in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,497,000.00 (€ 962,082.26).

Die Arbeit February Sun 16 x 20 in. framed 22 1/2 x 26 1/2 in. von Walter Ufer wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 201.975,00 (€ 195.655,33) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter Ufer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Gateway im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.497.000,00 (€ 962.082,26).
