It achieved a price of USD 252,375.00 (€ 244,478.35), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 40%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Ufer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Gateway, which sold at auction in May 2008 for USD 1,497,000.00 (€ 962,082.26).
