This price was achieved in the auction Tales of the City: New York Prints and Photographs of the Early 20th Century at Christies in Sydney and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 1,200.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Walter Rosenblum; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Candy Store; and Pitt Street, N.Y., 1938 sold at auction in December 2011 with the realized price of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,817.70).
